The seclusion is not only this confinement, but the notion can also refer to the physical space in which the subject is locked. Typically, seclusion is associated with incarceration of someone . It is said that someone is being held when they are in prison . In a democratic system, governed by a Constitution , prisons are establishments controlled by the State . In these places are housed citizens who, for having committed a certain crime, are convicted after a trial and deprived of their liberty.

Specifically, they are “forbidden” to leave the convent as well as that people from outside can access any place in the convent.
The objective of this type of seclusion is none other than to bet on a life that is dedicated exclusively to prayer, recollection and union with God. This would be the case of the orders of the Clarisas, Cartujas, Carmelitas or Jeronimas nuns, among others. However, it should not be overlooked that there are also orders from monks who are committed to voluntary seclusion such as those of the Jeronimos, Benedictines or Cistercians.
