Study is called the effort that one person dedicates to understand or learn something . To study, it is necessary to read, memorize and perform other actions that allow the assimilation of the contents. For example: “I have dedicated my life to the study of marine mammals”, "I think that, with two hours of study, I can learn to speak this language in about four months", “I was excited to study the history of our country: now I want to know more”.

A study is also called a work which is centered on the topic analysis : "The German anthropologist presented a study on the tribes that inhabit the Amazon rainforest", "According to the study conducted by the economist, in the last decade 20,000 jobs were created in the agricultural industry", "There are many interesting studies on slave labor in the Americas".

Throughout the life of the human being, the study occupies different places, both in reference to its importance and its character. For example, after two or three years we can start studying the so-called kindergarten, where they teach us the rudiments of the tongue , mathematics and art, among others subjects and disciplines, and they help us interact with other people our age.

The study begins as an activity mandatory , imposed by our parents to meet the requirements of society and open the doors to future employment opportunities. At first we find it difficult to understand its usefulness, since we usually prefer the game. However, as the years go by, many understand that learning is getting richer, becoming stronger and more powerful, and then they turn to study by their own choice.

Broadly speaking, we can distinguish two modalities of study: autodidact (the student chooses the material and organizes the lessons without the help of a teacher) and the academic (which is carried out in an institute, such as a school or faculty, under the supervision of teaching professionals). Each has its advantages and disadvantages, in addition to adjusting to the needs of different students.

Nowadays, self-study is very common, especially in foreign languages, since it is very easy to get the materials in digital format: from books to videos, through audio recordings and conversations with other students to practice without leaving home, Internet It covers all the needs of those who prefer to do without classrooms . Of course, organizing your own time and forcing yourself to meet your weekly goals can become a challenge, one that not everyone can overcome.

Academic study has the disadvantage of grouping disparate people on the same level, but it also benefits them by freeing them from the pressure of self-correcting and giving them the possibility of to practice with his partners.
